Christmas … In June?!?

Christmas … In June?!?

It’s decidedly weird to be filming a Christmas commercial in June, but that’s exactly what I’m doing!

I’ve been very excited about the progress we’ve been making on a new series of commercials / promotional videos for Modern Christmas Trees, who have been an absolutely OUTSTANDING client of mine for the last two years.

I’m thrilled to be working again with Matt Bliss, the company founder and design mastermind. He’s a complete pleasure to work with — wildly inventive, hard-working, and shares my inexplicable love for dry, biting sarcasm. We get along GREAT!  And the trees are beyond awesome. Honestly; the Memory Tree is easily the coolest-looking holiday decoration I’ve ever seen.

This year, Matt has asked me to produce several new videos for his Denver, Colorado-based company: one that showcases his brand-new “half-tree” offering; one that showcases the ease of the trees’ assembly; a new “sizzle reel” that displays his beautiful inventory; and one that tells his personal story, as well as some history behind these incredibly unique, beautiful tree designs.

I’m especially excited, as we’re going to be taking a more narrative approach with these new videos. I couldn’t be happier to working with two fantastic actors, Elizabeth Petrick, and Cody Rogers, who have both been amazing. I’m extremely grateful for their time, talent, patience, and enthusiasm. They’ve been a TON of fun to have on-set, and made my job super easy.

Here’s a few behind-the-scenes images from filming, some frame-grabs from early editing, and a quick proof-of-concept teaser video, showing the half-tree in all its glory.
